In 1983, Ken Dietterich saw the need for a local garage door company and founded KJ Doors. With a used truck, he began selling and repairing residential garage doors and openers.

He started the business on his home property, in Woxall, using a laundry room for an office, and constructing a receiving warehouse from used garage door sections. The business began to grow, and he moved office operations to his basement.

In 1994, the business was still growing, and he then had five employees. Ken built a garage with an upstairs office, but the delivery trucks in and out of the driveway were getting to be too much. K.J. Doors rented a barn in Harleysville for a warehouse, while keeping the office in Woxall. That worked for a few years, but the paperwork was never at the correct location. Ken needed a location where the warehouse and office could be together.

In 1998, K.J. Doors purchased the current location on Route 113 in Franconia Township. It was remodeled and two warehouses were added over the past fifteen years. Needless to say, we have continued to grow. We have expanded our products to include industrial and commercial doors and related products and services.

KJ Doors is family owned by the Dietterich family and operates with Christian values. Our installers and technicians are certified by IDEA. We make a point of having a salesperson in the office to help you, and try our best to have a person on the other end of the phone during our working hours.
